The Republican Legislative Campaign Committee (RLCC) is the only national organization dedicated exclusively to electing more Republicans to state legislatures. The RLCC’s primary mission is gaining and growing Republican control of more state legislative chambers by targeting national resources to support winnable local races. Since its formation in 2003, the RLCC has assisted in bringing successes to numerous legislative chambers, and winning historic majorities in states nationwide. In the 2015-2016 cycle, Republicans retained an all-time high of 69 of 99 Republican and flipped an additional three chambers in Kentucky, Iowa and Minnesota, as well as bringing the Connecticut Senate to a tie. The RLCC provides financial support, leadership development and strategic assistance to state legislatures, ensuring that candidates are equipped with the necessary tools to run effective and efficient campaigns.

Mike Turzai | Pennsylvania Speaker of the House
Mike Turzai was unanimously elected Speaker of the House on January 6, 2015 by his House Colleagues; he is now in his eighth term in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Winning a special election in 2001 for a seat in the 28th Legislative District, Mike represents communities in the North Hills of Allegheny County.
Born in Sewickley and raised in Moon Township, Mike developed his tenacity and strong work ethic from his parents and family. After graduating from Our Lady of Sacred Heart High School in 1977, Mike earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame before earning his Juris Doctor from Duke University in 1987.

Linda Upmeyer | Iowa Speaker of the House
Speaker Linda Upmeyer was first elected to the Iowa House in 2002 and is serving her eighth term.
Linda was born on July 23, 1952, in Mason City. Her father, Del Stromer, was a farmer and a former Speaker of the Iowa House. Her mother, Harriet, is a homemaker and was longtime aide to Del. Linda has one brother, David, a farmer in Garner, and a sister, Pam, in Dublin, Ohio.
Upmeyer grew up in Garner on the family farm, graduating from Garner High School in 1970.
She attended North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) and the University of Iowa, receiving her BSN. She also received her Master’s in Nursing from Drake University (Summa Cum Laude). She is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner.
